We created Deadlift Workout to bridge the gap between professional coaching and self-directed training. Using AI-powered pose estimation, we provide instant, actionable feedback on your form — without requiring you to upload your videos or compromise your privacy.

How Our Analyzer Works
Our form analyzer uses MediaPipe Pose, a state-of-the-art pose estimation model that runs entirely in your browser. It detects 33 body landmarks from your camera feed and analyzes them in real-time.
We then apply rule-based biomechanical analysis to identify potential form issues:
- Back position monitoring using torso angle analysis
- Lockout detection via hip and knee extension angles
- Hip-shoulder coordination to detect early hip rise
- Torso angle tracking throughout the lift
- Bar path approximation using wrist position
This approach allows us to provide helpful feedback while being transparent about the limitations of single-camera analysis. Our tool is designed to supplement — not replace — professional coaching.
Our Team
Deadlift Workout is built and maintained by strength training practitioners with real-world barbell experience and a passion for evidence-based coaching. Our team combines expertise in exercise science, software engineering, and competitive powerlifting.
Content & Calculator Development
All calculator logic, programming recommendations, and coaching notes are developed by contributors with CSCS-level knowledge in strength and conditioning. Every formula is verified against published research and tested with known input/output pairs.
Technical Development
The platform is built with Next.js, React, and MediaPipe by engineers who are also lifters — ensuring that tools are designed for real-world gym use, not just technical correctness.
